(2020) Fortnite on Mobile Graphics Changes

This thread was added on April 16, 2020, with posts from FreightTrainUSA.

Original Post

We’ve heard feedback regarding recent graphical quality changes on the iOS platform and wanted to explain the change to you all.

While working on the latest update for Fortnite we needed to adjust the texture pool and graphic settings available on several higher-end devices in order to improve stability (less crashes).

As a result, we reduced the visual quality for the following devices iPad Air 3rd Gen, iPad Mini 5th Gen, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max. We will continue to optimize all mobile and handheld platforms in order to ensure the best gameplay experience possible.

EDIT* These changes were made in v12.30 and not v12.40. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused.

Thanks for the clarity but I believe that the graphics were adjusted on all devices because on the iPad Pro 2020 the graphics look worse than they did prior to the most recent update.

The devices that had graphic settings changed/limited are only the devices listed.

Is it going to be temporary until stability is improved or is it permanently lowered?

As we stated in the post:

"We will continue to optimize all mobile and handheld platforms in order to ensure the best gameplay experience possible."

As I get more information I will be sure to keep everyone updated.

You're wrong! There are a lot more devices that have had graphic settings changed that are not on your list. Stop lying to us.

A lot of devices over time have gone through graphical adjustments. This is our largest change to this many devices at one time. These changes went into affect v12.30 and not v12.40. Any changes in graphics you are currently seeing in v12.40 are not directly related to the changes made in the devices listed above.
