It was March of 2019 when I found him wandering the Cranberry Bog. I don't know if it was his vampire outfit or his creepy moustache, all I knew was I wanted to know more.
And so we played. A party chat here and there. He was shy, I was boisterous. We both had our FO76 platinum trophies and some 500 levels between us. "It's nice to join up with another high level," reads my first PlayStation message to him. It was.
One day he asked where I got my character's wedding ring from. "Wait here," I said, and ran off to plunder a fancy radroach for a ring to give him. From that day, it was official. In the unofficial way these things can be. We'd meet up for "dates" at the Whitespring where I'd happily mule all his gear cuz that's what you do when you dig someone.
The months went on, and we'd play but he never realized every time I asked him on a silo adventure I was trying to get closer. It wasn't until one fateful night in September, after back to back nukes that we wound up back at his camp and I confessed that I had a thing for him. Creepy moustache and all. And that was it.
After countless nukes, another 200 or so levels between us (he's still lagging behind me by exactly 50), hundreds of dead Scorchbeast Queens, mad Canned Meat Stew, and a few hundred real life miles we finally made it official. Philadelphia isn't exactly West Virginia but boy was it nice to finally get to see the high level, heavy gun slinging boy that stole this salty old shotgunner girl's heart.
Thanks, Todd.
