So when are you going to add an option to manually reinitialise him? I have made a bug report on ea site and so have many others. Someone from the team responded once with a not so helpful response and after that we received no word at all from anyone. Even a "We are working on it" is better than no response, it just makes you look bad. I started this game on release hour and was unable to continue after 2 hours. It's been days.

Understood - I have raised this issue with relevant devs and I know it is being tracked and investigated. Understanding the repro for how BD-1 got into this state could help other players avoid the bug or assist us in also fixing that aspect of the bug. It is likely an issue related to a game save that triggered shortly before quitting the game and then later returning to resume play, but any info you could give would help.

This is the bug report I made. To me it looks more like improper reinitialisation of the BD-1 object after certain circumstances. Once it happens, you can keep dying, flying to diff planets, opening chests and he never comes back. Most people including me get it at a point where starting over would be too frustrating since there is no way to skip the beginning and it's kinda tough to have fun replaying a game when you just played it unlike when you come back to it after a year or so.

Also I would recommend for someone from the team to respond with anything. Like seriously just say you are investigating it or something. It's always better than silence. EA_Attic seems to be the guy who was watching over the thread at first. An update from him or sth would be great.

I believe I have identified the bug, for players who find a way to bypass getting BD-1 back before proceeding up the elevator to an arena in a level. I have proposed a fix to the team. Thanks for the info!

Hi. Just encountered this bug. This is fresh in my mind, just happened to me about 15 minutes ago. Start the prison sequence, pull the first plug, exit the cell. Central area: Pulled the plugs out of the wall, re-arranged them and plugged them all back in, elevator was still red at this point.

Went through the wall crevasse, talked to the guy in the cell, found BD-1. I noticed that it was on the table way in the back of that cell, inanimate. Eyes weren't lit, not moving on the table. I said aloud to myself that that looked like an ambush. I pulled the plug from the wall on the left, the forcefield went down. I dropped down from the overhang above where the forcefield was, and soft locked myself. There was nothing there. Killed myself by jumping off around 10 times, respawned in my beginning cell. At this point, I wandered around, and I think that this might be what caused the elevator to be powered. Stepped on it, did the arena without BD-1, the Mantis came in, I boarded and went to Kashyyyk. I quit before finishing the cutscene because I was finding posts online about permanent loss of BD-1.

Edit: oh my god, you were supposed to climb the plug, lol. 2iq player behavior. I had no idea.

Thank you for this repro! I have fixed the bug that allows the elevator to go up before you’ve gotten BD-1. Without being able to use the elevator you would have had to return to the other area after respawning, which is where you find him. The fix will be in a patch soon. Thanks!
