Haven't bought elite this season and noticed this in the Hunt Pass tab. Does this mean that unlike last season you retroactively get the bonus vault coins for every level you've already gotten when you buy elite now?
Yes. But it was already the case with the previous Hunt Pass. ;)

So to answer your previous post in more detail, you get 1 coin per level on the free track, and 4 coins on the elite track, for a total of 5 coins per level.
So for example, if you don't own the elite pass but get to level 70 (so 20 prestige levels) and then upgrade to the elite pass, you would be granted 20 * 4 = 80 Vault coins, on top of all the other elite track rewards.
I was using info from a uhhh... "private source" that may have been a bit out of date when the actual vault launched.
