It could just be a console thing.
I notice that when I lead NPCs far enough away from their camps in the highlands, they disappear along with their entire camp - allowing me to go back in to respawn the camp, along with a whole camp of completely random NPCs [regardless of how many I killed previously]
At Stormwatch I can literally farm high level crafter thralls all day with this. Level 1 smelter? Nah, don't want that. Lead him away - despawn, approach, respawn, check level and profession. Level 3 blacksmith? Perfect, you'll do, time to go to sleep. Lead the archer guarding the other entrance away, despawn, and --- completely restocked camp on respawn.
Their wanderer just happens to always be a crafter, whereas nearby desertwatch is always a fighter.
I don't know if this is a bug, or an exploit, or just expected behavior, but thought I'd ask here before I bother the Funcom staff with this information.
