Are they ninja nerfing and buffing aka weapon balancing without patch notes?

My squad is adamant all the time that weapons are changing. “The KN sucks now.” “The MX9 shreds now.” I always thought it was in their heads as an excuse for botting it up and that they put out patch notes for weapon changes.
